Kahelelani Moli of Iḷisaġvik College

Kahelelani Moli says education is an investment and commitment to a greater version of herself. She has discovered greater passions and purposes while on her journey as a tribal college student. The greatest forms of higher learning have been found in the simple truths and values of the Iñupiaq people and Alaska Natives. She has been able to connect her own Indigenous roots of being a Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander to her coursework and classmates because of the academic foundation at Iḷisaġvik College. Her education has become a call to purposeful action for the advocacy of education for all Alaska Natives, and cultural preservation efforts. Kahelelani hopes that her education will be a tool of empowerment, and that is so important to her.
